What is the Focus Institution?

Understanding the importance of HolonIQ's Focus Institution

Updated over a week ago

Overview

in the HolonIQ QS Analytics platform, the Focus Institution is of tremendous importance as it is the focal point and acts as a filter that shapes the results displayed in most Reports.

When you change the Focus Institution using the Focus Institution Selector dropdown, the platform automatically adjusts and filters the data to match the selected Institution, allowing you to:

• view metrics specific to that Institution
• analyse activity and performance specific to that Institution

In short, the Focus Institution is essentially a filter so that all information and data shown is relative to the Institution you are focusing on.

How the Focus Institution Selector works

Note - by default, the Focus Institution Selector always includes your own institution.
This entry is fixed and permanently positioned at the top of the dropdown list, below "Overview" and above "Master Peer List":

As you start your journey using the HolonIQ platform, the Focus Institution Selector only shows your own institution because it is the only available choice when you first use the tool.

However, as you begin to add other Institutions through your Master Peer List, they will automatically appear in the Focus Institution Selector dropdown:

This allows you to easily switch between your own Institution and any Peers you have added in your Master Peer List, depending on the analysis you want to perform.
