This article explains how to add or remove universities, manage peer limits, and what to keep in mind when making updates.
🌿 Accessing Your Master Peer List
Scroll to the left and hover to open the Main Menu and then Navigate to option at top left called Lists (see below):
After clicking on Lists, the Lists page opens. Now locate your Master Peer List — it will always be outlined in green.
Click to open it. Here, you’ll see the total number of peers currently on your list.
📝 Note - Your peer limit may vary depending on your subscription agreement.
➕ Adding a New University
If you have available peer slots within your limit:
Use the search bar to find the university you’d like to add.
Click to add it to your Master Peer List.
A pop-up alert will appear, letting you know that once you add a peer, it will be locked in for 365 days.
⚠️ Important: Double-check before confirming, as recently added peers cannot be removed immediately.
Once confirmed, the university (e.g., Harvard University) will be added to your Master Peer List.
➖ Removing an Existing University
Again, you can only remove a universities from your Master Peer List after the 365 days period concludes. At this time, you’ll see a Red X remove option next to their name. Click red X to remove the university.
For universities added <365 days, a padlock icon will appear letting you know when the university was added to the Master Peer List.
The padlock will remain until the lock-in period (365 days) has passed.
📊The Master Peer List and Multiple Datasets
In case you are subscribed to multiple Rankings & Reputation datasets (for example World University Rankings, Academic Reputation and Subject Rankings datasets), the same Master Peer List will be used in all datasets.
It is not possible to have separate Master Peer Lists with different members for each dataset
📈 Increasing Your Peer Limit
If you’d like to increase the number of peers allowed on your Master Peer List:
Reach out to your QS Customer Success representative or QS Sales team.
They can discuss next steps for expanding your peer limit based on your subscription or dataset agreement.
