In this guide, we'll cover:

  • Where to find Peer Lists

  • The difference between Master Peer Lists, Custom Peer Lists, and QS Lists

  • How to create Custom Peer Lists

  • How to edit, share, and export Peer Lists

🧭 Accessing Your Peer Lists

  1. From the QS Performance Analytics dashboard, navigate to the Lists section in the main menu.

  2. Here, you'll find your Master Peer List, any Custom Peer Lists you've created, and the QS Lists provided by QS.

🌿 Master Peer List

Your Master Peer List is the primary list of peers (universities) for benchmarking.

  • It’s always outlined in green, so you can easily identify it.

  • Clicking on it will display the universities currently included (e.g., 20 peers).

  • You can add, edit, or remove universities from this list as needed.

πŸ’‘ Note: Any Custom Peer List you create must be based on the universities included in your Master Peer List.

✍️ Custom Peer Lists

Custom Peer Lists let you create tailored groupings of peers for specific analysis.

βž• Create a Custom Peer List:

  1. In the Lists section, click New Peer List at the top.

  2. Enter a name for your list.

  3. Use the toggle to decide whether this List is visible to other users in your workspace.

  4. Click Save to create your blank Custom Peer List.

🏫 Add Peers:

  • Begin adding universities from your Master Peer List.

  • If you try to add a university not on your Master Peer List, an alert will notify you.

✏️ Manage Your Custom Peer List:

  • Rename: Click the Edit button at the top right.

  • Change visibility: Toggle visibility on or off for your workspace.

  • Delete: Remove older or unused lists. Be careful as this cannot be undone.

  • Share: Click the Share icon to copy the list URL.

  • Export: Download your Peer List as an image or PDF.

⚠️ Exported data will only include data from peers from your Master Peer List.

🧰 QS Lists

QS Lists are pre-built benchmark peer groups created by QS.

  • These lists are available in the Lists section.

  • They include popular groupings of universities β€” some are regionally focused, while others are based on QS Stars or other themes.

  • You can use these lists as benchmarks across any Performance Analytics datasets.
