This article explains how to use the Occupation Heatmap to compare labour market trends across different regions and time periods.

Updated yesterday

Accessing the Occupation Heatmap

  1. Navigate to Labour Data & Reports.

  2. Select Occupation, the third option in the Report bar

  3. Open the Occupation menu's Heatmap (fourth item) to visualise trends across regions and over time.

The heatmap allows you to quickly identify growth, decline, and regional differences for specific occupations.

Understanding the Heatmap Colour Scale

The heatmap uses a colour scale to represent relative values:

  • Darker or more intense colours indicate higher values or stronger trends.

  • Lighter colours indicate lower values or weaker trends.

Click on any cell in the heatmap to view more detail in the right-hand panel about that Occupation.

Switching Heatmap Views

You can change how the data is displayed using the heatmap view controls:

  • Rows view: compare occupations across multiple regions.

  • Columns view: compare regions across multiple occupations.

  • Focus view: highlight a specific occupation or region for deeper analysis.

These views help tailor the heatmap to the comparison you want to make.

Adjusting Geographic Scope

Use the Show data for option to refine the geographic scope of the heatmap.

Select one or more regions, countries, or markets included in your subscription:

The heatmap will update automatically based on your selection.

This is useful for comparing local, national, or international occupation trends.

Downloading or Copying Heatmap Data

You can reuse heatmap insights outside the platform in several ways:

Download the heatmap data if your subscription includes data export permissions.

Copy values directly to your clipboard for use in spreadsheets or documents.

These options allow you to incorporate occupation trend analysis into workforce planning, reporting, or research workflows.
