How do I get an overview of Sustainability Rankings?

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to access and understand the Sustainability Rankings on the platform.

Accessing the Sustainability Rankings Dataset:

  • Start on the homepage and hover to the left side menu.

  • Select "Sustainability Rankings" from the available options.

Selection of Overview from the Drop-down:

  • By default, it selects your focus institution, you could also change it to any of your Master Peers List for a deeper insight of their performance.

  • From the drop-down menu, choose "Overview" to gain a holistic view of the entire Sustainability Rankings.

Customizing Your View:

  • Adjust Selections: If you wish to view data from the max year 2023 to 2025 as a complete picture, clear any selections for your Master Peer List. This allows you to compare it with previous years if needed.

Benchmark period:

  • The current maximum view spans 2023 to 2025 as this is a newly launched ranking starting in 2023. Note that this differs from other rankings, which may cover the last 3, 5 & 10 years.


Exploring the Rankings

  1. Explore Other Metrics (Rank, Percentile, Score):

  • Rank: Tells you where your position for the year, it changes if the group size or the ability of the whole distribution changes.

  • Percentile: How an institution compares across the whole distribution, it's the best indicator of real improvement or decline.

  • Score: The absolute achievement for the year, it can rise or fall slightly due to the methodology changes.

2. Group by the ranking movement change:

  • Click to group the data by change to see how institutions have moved up or down in rank over the past year.

  • For instance, you may discover that this institution has increased by X spots, highlighting significant changes.
