The Rankings and Benchmarking Datasets in the QS HolonIQ platform help you explore institutional performance across global, regional and subject-level datasets. Benchmark your institution, compare performance trends and identify areas for improvement.

Accessing Rankings Data

From the platform home screen, select Institutional Performance.
Choose a dataset such as:

  • World University Rankings

  • Subject Rankings

  • Graduate Management Education (GME)

  • Sustainability Rankings

Use the benchmark selector to choose your institution and add peers for comparison.

Exploring an Institution

Each institution dashboard displays:

  • Overall rank, percentile and score over time

  • Key indicators including Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Faculty/Student Ratio and Citations per Faculty

  • Trend charts showing performance over a 10-year period

Benchmarking and Peer Comparison

Use benchmarking tools to analyse your institution alongside others.
You can:

  • Create a master peer list for repeated comparisons

  • View domestic and international peers side-by-side

  • Switch between rank, percentile and score to view results from different perspectives

  • Identify top quartile, median and lower quartile performance through box plots

Deep-Dive Analysis

Explore performance in more detail using the data visualisation tools:

  • The Indicator Map shows results across all ranking indicators

  • Select any indicator (e.g. Citations per Faculty) for detailed breakdowns

  • Use scatter charts to explore relationships between two indicators

  • The movement analysis view shows changes across indicators over time


Subject, GME and Sustainability Rankings

Explore other datasets for additional insights:

  • Subject Rankings – compare performance across 50+ disciplines

  • GME Rankings – focus on employability, ROI and reputation metrics

  • Sustainability Rankings – review environmental, social and governance indicators


Downloading and Sharing Data

You can export data and share results with your team:

  • Download data tables as CSV files

  • Copy visual data to clipboard

  • Create and share custom dashboards for faculty or executive reporting
