WHERE IS THE DATA FROM? HOW DO YOU COLLECT THE DATA?

The OPM and Academic PPP Datasets are human generated by a team of education specialists with expertise in different global markets. The dataset is primary research by human analysts augmented with digital program metadata to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information. In addition, we aggregate published information from University, OPM, and industry sources. All program data is verified by human analysts. Programs identified only by published information (e.g. press release) and not meta-data evidenced are not considered ‘verified records’ in the Dataset.

WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION DO YOU HAVE ON EACH PROGRAM?

The following data is collected for each OPM Program: program/degree name, degree level, CIP code or equivalent, university, IPEDS Unit ID or equivalent, city of university, state of university, country of university, city of OPX, state of OPX, and country of OPX. CIP codes or equivalent are assigned by higher education industry experts and are mapped to HolonIQ’s domain taxonomy. Additional meta data on the Universities, the OPM/OPX’s as well as various web statistics collected as proxy meta-data for demand and other indicators are also collected.

HOW DO YOU VERIFY THE DATA IS ACCURATE?

We follow three verification methods - top down, bottom up and digital. Top down verification can be completed for providers that disclose programs. Bottom up verification involves sharing our data with an OPX and inviting them to voluntarily verify the data. Digital verification is completed by using advanced technology to identify underlying connections between University and OPX provider technologies, domain names, IP addresses, landing pages etc.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR UPDATING DATA?

New programs and OPM’s are identified every week and updated quarterly. We do not accept any payment for data from OPM or Universities and all new updates must be verified using the above verification methods.
